EKC Small Business Crawl
For 11 years the East Kings County Alumnae Chapter has been celebrating and amplifying Black Owned Businesses in our service area. Recently, in partnership with The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, we decided to highlight "The Taste of East Brooklyn." This was a celebration of Black Cuisine, chefs and bakers with visits to various eateries featuring delicious juices, pastries, soul food, Caribbean food, and seafood. Patrons even had the opportunity to purchase custom treats for the crawl.
International Awareness & Involvement
April is Autism Awareness Month. What does autism support look like across the globe? East Kings County Alumnae Chapter in partnership with the Arabian Gulf Alumnae Chapter coordinated "On the Spectrum, Across the Globe" to explore just that. We learned from a diverse panel of moms and experts who shared their unique cross-cultural perspectives on diagnosis, education, and combating stigma. From navigating different education systems to understanding the challenges faced by Black children globally, this first of many panels offered invaluable, actionable insights and next steps forward. Be sure to follow EKCDST on all platforms to join the conversation and help us build a more inclusive world.
Street Smarts
This event is always free for all ages and includes a youth workshop focusing on the particular issues facing young people.

Breakfast Book Club
When members of East Kings County Alumnae Chapter recognized that many of our youngest participants in our early morning science and literacy programs had not eaten for the day, the Breakfast Book Club was born. With hot breakfast sandwiches and fresh juice in hand, East Kings County recognized that often to feed the mind, you must first feed the child. For many of our young participants this would be their only meal of the day.

Black History Month
During the month of February, East Kings County Alumnae Chapter uses public service to remember and celebrate the achievements of people throughout the African diaspora.
